La Suerte – Giclée Art Print (Fabric Label by E. McKnight Kauffer)

La Suerte (which means “luck” in Spanish) was originally designed as a lithographic fabric label. It’s one of an incredibly charming series designed by Edward McKnight Kauffer for Steinthal & Co. in Manchester between 1916 and 1926. The small, colourful labels were used for identifying bales of printed textiles destined for export - often to markets in South America, Africa, and Asia. The labels had printed fields "No", "Yds", and "Mts" to note number, yards, and metres.

We’ve carefully restored the artwork and turned it into a high-quality giclée print on beautiful museum-grade paper. They work beautifully as standalone pieces or in pairs or groups.
